Experience Great Literature
Borough Writing Workshops teaches children, youths, and adults in health care facilities and schools how to read, write, and experience great poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. These valuable lessons are led by experienced teachers and writers who help direct students in cultivating imagination and memory through creation and expression. For children, youths, and adults who find themselves in situations such as long-term hospital care, retirement homes, and after-school programs, Borough Writing Workshops focuses its students’ attention on the solace and escape of writing. By focusing on long-term hospital care, retirement homes, and after-school programs, Borough Writing Workshops fosters creativity in situations in which students may feel a need for respite.

Borough Writing Workshops is committed to building a community with the teachers, students, staff, administration, family, and friends who experience what the Workshops has to offer.
The Workshops is a nonprofit organization. It charges a nominal fee to the administration so that the students can take the classes for free and receive books and supplies at no cost.
