An Overview of BWW

When does BWW offer classes?
Our faculty operates day and evening classes, as per your availability. E-mail us for details.
How long are the sessions?
4, 6 or 8 weeks, for 2.5 hours per class, one class per week.
Where are the classes held?
BWW instructors come to your facilities and teach on premise, using your available activity rooms.
What does BWW cost?
BWW charges a flat fee to the administration on a sliding scale, depending on the length and duration of a session (4, 6 or 8 weeks). The students pay nothing and receive free books and materials
What type of writing will the students be doing?
Poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction (memoir).
What about course materials and supplies?
BWW supplies an anthology of poetry and fiction, pocket dictionaries, and writing materials, all of which the students are welcome to keep.
What if a student is too unwell to attend?
The instructors at BWW will make arrangements to meet one-on-one with the student.
How big are classes?
10-12 students, maximum.
Is there some kind of culmination party?
Yes. After the last class of the session, accommodations are made between the teacher and administration to have a reading of works that were created during the workshop. Family, friends, staff, and Borough Writing Workshops staff are encouraged to attend.
What is a nonprofit organization?
A nonprofit organization (abbreviated NPO, also not-for-profit) is an organization that does not distribute its surplus funds to owners or shareholders, but instead uses them to help pursue its goals. Donations are tax deductible.
